For Immediate Release

PHILADELPHIA (Jul 28, 2025)

Philadelphia Soccer 2026, the 501c3 non-profit organization that serves as the Local Host Committee charged with planning and executing FIFA World Cup 26™ in coordination with the City of Philadelphia, today announced Fashion District Philadelphia as the site of its FIFA World Cup 26™ Volunteer Center. Set in one of the most prominent and accessible areas in downtown Philadelphia, the location will serve as the primary hub for volunteer operations leading up to and throughout FIFA World Cup 26 Philadelphia™.

ocated at 901 Market Street, the facility sits adjacent to the Pennsylvania Convention Center and within walking distance of over 6,000 hotel rooms, ensuring convenience for both local and visiting volunteers. Adding to its appeal, the location is embedded in the heart of the business community and connected to the city’s #1 transit hub. More than 3,100 parking spaces are also available in adjacent lots and garages.

“Fashion District Philadelphia’s selection as the site of Philadelphia Soccer 2026’s FIFA World Cup 26™ Volunteer Center represents a significant victory for our city,” said Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle L. Parker. “The center will not only help power critical volunteer efforts supporting FIFA World Cup 26™ but also generate significant economic activity for our local businesses, restaurants, and hotels. We are proud to support this effort and the thousands of volunteers who will ensure that next summer’s tournament is a success.”

With guidance from FIFA, each Host City has identified its own unique volunteer needs based on a variety of factors, including number of matches, size and duration of FIFA Fan Festival, anticipated visitors, and more. In Philadelphia, the tournament is expected to be supported by 3,000 passionate volunteers, with 7,100 applicants expected to be interviewed to fill those roles.

“The Fashion District is an ideal location for FIFA World Cup 26 Philadelphia™ to welcome and serve the thousands of volunteers who will make the games one of Philadelphia's most successful events in history and a showcase for our city and region," said Michelle Singer, Board Co-Chair, Philadelphia Soccer 2026. "The site is easily accessible -- volunteers can walk, take public transit or drive -- and it is located just blocks away from the country's most historical sites and the city's economic center.  There really is no better site to base our large volunteer effort and I am glad we were able to secure it."

The FIFA World Cup 26™ Volunteer Center - Philadelphia will not only act as a recruitment and training location, but also as a welcoming space for volunteers to connect, engage, and learn more about Philadelphia Soccer 2026’s mission and the history of FIFA World Cup™ through its in-house FIFA museum. Over the coming months, Philadelphia Soccer 2026 will work collaboratively with FIFA to begin the process of interviewing and onboarding volunteers from a diverse cross-section of the community that will help bring the city’s plans for next summer’s FIFA World Cup™ to life.
