Philadelphia (Sep 3, 2025)Philadelphia Soccer 2026, the non-profit planning and executing FIFA World Cup 26™ in coordination with the City of Philadelphia, today announced that Michelle W. Singer, Senior Vice President of Political Engagement at Comcast Corporation, will serve as its co-chair alongside Daniel J. Hilferty, Chairman & CEO of Comcast Spectacor and Governor of the Philadelphia Flyers. In her expanded leadership role, Singer, who has served as Vice Chair since 2021, will continue working closely with Hilferty, the Board of Directors, and the Philadelphia Soccer 2026 management team led by Meg Kane, Host City Executive, and Lauren Lambrugo, Chief Operating Officer, to make next year’s FIFA World Cup 26™ the most successful large sporting event in Philadelphia’s history.
“From the earliest days of our bid through today, Michelle’s strategic insight and operational experience has been invaluable, and I am excited to work with her in this new and expanded role," said Hilferty. "As preparations continue for what will be Philadelphia's largest international sporting event ever, with hundreds of thousands of visitors coming to our city and being supported by thousands of volunteers, the Board of Directors of Philadelphia Soccer 2026 is honored to appoint Michelle as co-chair.”
A member of Comcast's senior leadership team, Singer brings decades of operational and fundraising experience to her role as co-chair. In addition to her work leading Comcast's civic and political affairs efforts, where she has advised governmental and political leaders at the federal, state and local levels, Singer played a key role in funding and executing the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia and served on Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro’s Transition Leadership Board in 2023.

Philadelphia will host six (6) matches for FIFA World Cup 26™, including a Round of 16 match on July 4, 2026, when Philadelphia will be the epicenter of the 250th Anniversary Celebration of the United States.
