For Immediate Release
PHILADELPHIA (Mar 13, 2025)
Philadelphia Soccer 2026, the 501c3 non-profit organization that serves as the operational Host Committee charged with planning and executing FIFA World Cup 26™ for the City of Philadelphia, today released its official FIFA World Cup 26™ Host City Sonic ID, produced by West Philadelphia native and two-time GRAMMY-award winning producer DJ Jazzy Jeff.
Music is an integral part of the FIFA World Cup™ and for 2026, FIFA has partnered with influential producers from each of the 16 Host Cities across Canada, Mexico and the United States to create bespoke Sonic IDs. These audio brands will connect the tournament with each city’s unique culture, offering a preview of the “sounds of the city” that visitors and fans can expect to experience.
The Sonic ID will be featured during broadcasts, in stadiums, at FIFA Fan Festivals, and across digital platforms throughout the tournament. Serving as audio ambassadors for their cities, they will be instantly recognizable to global audiences while reflecting each city’s authentic musical heritage and cultural identity.
“Music has the power to bring people together and transport them to a specific time and place. My hope is that this Sonic ID is representative of the experience of Philadelphia, inside a stadium packed to the brim with passionate fans,” said DJ Jazzy Jeff. “It’s an honor to be part of the FIFA World Cup 26™ journey and I can’t wait for the world to feel the energy of Philly in 2026!”
“DJ Jazzy Jeff has shaped the sound of Philadelphia for the last 40 years and we’re proud to capture a piece of that legacy in our Host City Sonic ID,” said Meg Kane, Host City Executive/CEO, Philadelphia Soccer 2026. “This sound is just a short glimpse into the culture of Philadelphia. We hope that fans from around the world, whether they’re soccer or music lovers, will join us in 2026 to experience the magic of our city through our six FIFA World Cup 26™ matches and FIFA Fan Festival™.” Fans can now stream, download and enjoy Philadelphia’s Sonic ID on popular music platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and more, and watch a Sonic ID visualizer on FIFA’s YouTube channel.
